I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really happening.
